Art by Jeffrey McGuire....Welcome!
**Some of my newest work will be on dis for sale at Images On Bank, 147 Bank St, in downtown Ottawa.
Art has been big part of my life since childhood. From as far back as I can remember I was always doodling or drawing something. My parents nurtured my creativity and I am grateful to them for it. I strongly believe that artistic ability is a gift meant to be shared. I hope my work inspires you to express your artistic self; artistic expression takes many forms. I gather ideas and inspiration from many places. I work with a variety of material including: acrylic and oil paint, matte and high gloss varnish, oil bar, permanent marker, pencil, pencil crayon, ink, pastel, charcoal, newsprint and soil. My appraoch to creating a piece of art is a journey of trial and error, layering, texturizing, re-working and reflection; I am a process artist. I complete some pieces in a short time while others may sit unfinished for weeks months or years; gut instinct usually tells me when a painting is complete and it's time to let go! I have held a few small art shows in my studio/apartment and have also exhibited at Images On Bank (147 Bank St., Ottawa) where I work as a custom framer. To date, I have sold over 50 creations. I have also donated a couple to charity and given many to family and friends as gifts.
I have created the following categories for my work: abstract, natural elements, cityscapes and sketches. If you are interested in a piece I am happy to provide more information such as availability, size and the materials/process involved in creating it. I also do commission work and look forward to hearing about your vision for some original art. I welcome your questions, comments and feedback on my contact page and I hope you enjoy the site! All prices listed are negotiable.
Cheers,
Jeffrey
