Art by Jeffrey McGuire....Welcome!

Picture
**Some of my newest work is on display for sale at my workplace - Images On Bank, 147 Bank St, in downtown Ottawa.
Art has been big part of my life since childhood.  From as far back as I can remember I was always doodling or drawing.  My parents nurtured my creativity and I'm grateful to them for it.  I strongly believe that artistic ability is a gift meant to be shared.  I hope my work inspires and encourages others to follow their passion.

I work primarily in acrylic and ink but I've explored and experimented with other media as well.  Lately I've been working quite a bit on recyled surfaces wherever I can find them - things like tabletops and pieces of shelving.  I like the idea of liberating a piece of trash and  transforming it into art! My creative approach is a journey of trial and error, layering, texturizing, re-working and reflection; I am a process artist.  I hold regular art shows in my downtown studio apartment and have also exhibited at my work - Images On Bank (147 Bank St., Ottawa).  To date, I have sold over 65 creations.  I have also donated some to charity and given many to family and friends as gifts.
One thing I am not is a gifted web designer, but I have done my best to create a showcase of the majority of my work since approximately 2007.  If you are interested in a piece I am happy to provide more information about it such as exact size and the materials/process involved in creating it.  I also do quite a bit of custom work for clients and have really enjoyed creating commissioned art over the years.  I hope you enjoy the site!  Thanks to all who have supported me in my craft; I am eternally grateful. Cheers!
